After the fight, a discussion was in order how to proceed. While I was convinced that the fight had been a tragic misunderstanding, the others did not subscribe to that sentiment. We agreed, however, that we would be most unwelcome in the attackers' settlement after this, and probably faced with open hostility after this. Since the only other landmark we had was the town in the crater we saw earlier, it was decided that we return and investigate there.
Thus began a long and arduous march back out of the jungle. However, after a while we realised that Sira, who had been missing for a while. When we backtracked, we found that she had been silently beset by a giant spider, but by the time we arrived, she had managed to liberate herself and overcome the beast. Nevertheless, Master Krastus decided to cast a huge bolt of fire into the webbing that remained, and soon the foliage was ablaze. As we ran off towards the coast, the fire spread further, and when we arrived at the cliff, we could see that we had left behind a large smouldering area.
As we stood there by the cliff, the apparition that had summoned Carlton or, more accurately, Barton Grey, showed herself again. This time, however, she voiced her disappointment how Barton had forsaken her. Again, a heated argument broke out within the group. The pragmatic ones wanted to leave this island and go ahead, while I tried to make the point that we should, considering that much damage had been done by our carelessness, stay around for once and try to set things right, even if the outlook was rather bleak at this point.

Carlton Grey and the Great Spider-y Jungle Fire
After the
attack, we went on searching for a way out of the jungle. I took one of the
giant snake heads with us, even though it wasn’t as good as a dragon would have
been.
It wasn’t a very enjoyable walk, since the forest was dark and the path was narrow. It got even worse when we found out that Sira left us to visit some spiders for some reason.

They weren’t
really happy to see her, and tried to bite, but she fought them off quite
easily. The whole thing would have been fine, but as usual Krastus couldn’t
stand someone else killing things when he wasn’t, so he set the jungle on fire.
After this we had to run, but thankfully we found a cliff where we could jump
into the sea.
We were ready to leave, when the weird ghost-lady appeared again, and started berating us about the stuff we did on this island, and then disappeared again before we could even answer. This got me quite annoyed.
First of all, she confused me with my brother again, and second she never even talked with us, before deciding to tell lies about my brother. Even though the captain wanted to leave as soon as possible, I and Heléne convinced him to stay for a while to sort this all out.
I want to have a few words with this judgmental ghost girl. I have my brothers reputation to protect here.

In Which I Told Them Thusly
I told them. I told them the jungle was a bad idea.
But does anyone listen?
No, they like to sit and berate, never listen. Never take advice. Just wonder at the end why it went wrong and then blame the person that told them so. Tch. Such irrational creatures these humans - even when disguised as a Walrus.
We were moving out of the jungle when SIra went missing. We heard shots and ran back...only to find her surrounded by dead spiders. Big spiders. Big scary 'come from the shadows' spiders. We looked up, and I was certain I saw another, so I did what any sane person would do. I threw fire up into the canopy. Which caught on the webbing. It seems there was quite an infestation judging from how quickly it spread. We had to run.
We got to the edge of the forest. And a cliff. For me this was not an issue, and seeing the ship in a distant bay I went and glided back to it for safety. The others? Well, they made it back with diving and what not.
What followed was not pleasing - they sought to blame me for this situation. A situation we should never have been in. A situation I warned against. We debating going back to help, I pointed out to them that no-one technically knew we had started the fire other than this spectre friend of Carlton's. And whatever group she was with might know. So if we went up, the people who don't want to kill us are not the ones we want. Simple, really. How do they not see these things?

Sira Saran: And then a lot went wrong...
Trying to find this city in a jungle will be really pain, but we want to try. So we were wandering deeper into the jungle and someone tried to find a track or path there without much of sucess.
The more disturbing thing was that they did not notice when a huge spider dragged me into the top of the trees. I woke up a little bit later in a spiderwebcocoon.
After freeing myself I arrived on the ground safely and 4 huge spiders followed me down.
They seemed to be still interested in eating me so I opened fire before they actually got near.
The fight was more a one sided massacre. Poor creatures.
In the end the Capt'n arrived with the rest of the crew. That was really good, I would have hated it to search for them in the jungle.
Then the most strangest thing happened. Out of nowhere the crab shot fireballs all over the treetops.
The spiderwebs went ablaze all of a sudden and with it the trees. We ran to the coast, over the cliffs and into the water only to see the whole island in flames.
Great, really great...
What followed on deck was a stupid discussion to help the poor creatures on the island or not...
I will see what disaster strikes next.

Cortez: Fire under our rears
Things are going poorly again. We were lost in the jungle. I tried leading us out, but we wound up losing Sira to spiders. Not losing as in dead, just lost her. Spiders died quickly, but then Krastus lost his mind.
I'll admit there was some mistakes in taking our Archmage into the jungle. But I didn't expect his terror to consume him so much. He cast fire into the spider webs. Spider webs are very flammable. We fled the jungle.
Which worked out since we jumped into the ocean and swam back to the ship.
Now we're thinking of going back to the island we burned up and see if the people still need our help.

Sira Saran: The Jungle Sleeps Tonight
Sleeping in the jungle is sometimes a really scary adventure. All that noise and the creatures.
And then an attack in the night. Creatures I have never seen and giant snakes. The fight that broke out was hard and the price for the attackers was so high in the first moments, that they retreated just after the fight started.
During the fight the crab lost his mind again and attacked the Capt'n again.
The retreating survivors called out about a city. That was strange, so we followed them as good as we could and at last stood at the rim of a crater and on the bottom a little town with strange creatures in it.
This will be an interesting day.

Hélène: The wrong fight?
After a long and arduous journey through the jungle, it had become increasingly clear that night fall would come before we would see the open skies again, and had to make camp somewhere within the verdant maze. After some time, we had found a suitable spot with fresh water, set up camp and a watch schedule, and started to rest, hoping for an uneventful night.
Except for Carlton, who, being his usual self, had hoped for an especially interesting and thrilling night, and apparently that was exactly what he got. I awoke from my sleep to the noises of combat, particularly one very special firearm that went off uncomfortably close to me. Coming to my senses, I saw that strange beings had surrounded our camp; They had approached our camp with supernatural stealth, as Carlton claimed, and seemingly peeled out of the darkness at the last instant.
There were two creatures that looked like the gorgons of legend, three large serpent-like beings, and a larger number of persons vaguely resembling humans, but partially sporting animal features. Carlton was already caught up in a fight with them, having opted to alert the rest of our crew by gunshot.
Soon, the fight was in full force. Carlton and Sira proceeded to wreak havoc on our assailants, dropping one after the other with powerful gunshots. Our Captain and the Archmage, however, were once again locked in a quarrel with each other. Was this the work of a cursed weapon again, or had their mutual dislike grown that strong in the mean time?
Then I locked eyes with one of the serpents, and it felt like we peered deep into each other's minds. I understood that their approach had not been motivated by enmity, and that there would be no further bloodshed once we surrendered. This prospect hit a nerve with me, and I attempted to convey this idea to my friends. Yet I failed, since before my words had any impact, a horrible turn of events came to pass.
The serpent who had communed with me was struck square into the head, by one of Carlton's musket shots, and it collapsed in an instant, lifeless. In the most jarring fashion, our bond was broken, and despite all the cacophony around me, I felt a deafening silence.
Our nightly visitors had paid a terrible price. The gorgons and two of the serpents had already fallen, and the last one proceeded to order a retreat. The people from the city, who they had apparently mistaken us for, had proven too strong. However, before it could slip back into the jungle, another unerring gunshot of Carlton's mercilessly ended its life.

Krastus - In which the captain attacked me. Again.
He attacked me. Again. He is going to find himself a gelding pretty fast at this rate - though an interesting question. How /does/ one geld a walrus?
We camped in the woods. Lost. In the darkness. With the shadows. And from the shadows they came. Beings with snakes on their heads, beings intent on ending us. We fought and they died but, some kind of force overtook me. It seems these beings wanted....I guess peace, to talk. But the killing had started.
The captain them went mad and attacked me - it seems his rapier is affected by the same blood magic as my axe. The one they all yell at me for using. Seems the captain might need to be convinced to stop using it. We'll see if Carlton yells at him for using it still - or whether he is just racist against scurillians as I suspect. Humans are so jealous.
But, this distracts us from our problems. We are still in this jungle. This jungle I told them not to go into. We have killed the natives, we don't know what else lurks in the dark, in the shadows. And we are still lost.

Cortez: Midnight Attack
During the night our camp was attacked. We had left Carlton on first watch and he spotted some attackers. Giant snakes... strange creatures like out of mythology on earth. And then strange attackers with bodies mixed human with animal.
There was some mind control happening, making Krastus speak to us of surrender. Yet we are unlikely to surrender, and the attackers soon learned we meant business and we killed many as they fled.
I don't think this will lead us out of the jungle, but we must set course in a direction and follow it now to lead us out. Maybe we can return to that strange town and find out what is going on.

Carlton Grey and the Campsite That Was Full of Snakes
We made
camp in the jungle, and went to sleep. Some of us stood watch of course, in
case something interesting happens.
It did!
Lots of different animal people and a few giant snakes attacked us, and we had to fight back. They must have been really good at hiding, because even I only noticed them right when they attacked, and that is impressive from a giant sneak. Then again I guess if anyone is good at sneaking around it should be snakes.

Most of the actual fighting was done by me and Sira, because the captain was
fighting with Krastus again for some reason, and Heléne was trying to cast a
spell the whole time.
Anyway in the end I shot the two snake hair ladies, and we killed four giant snakes and all the other animal people ran away, so there is nothing to worry about.
Now we just have to decide which remains we should use as the new figurehead to our ship.
