After the fight, a discussion was in order how to proceed. While I was convinced that the fight had been a tragic misunderstanding, the others did not subscribe to that sentiment. We agreed, however, that we would be most unwelcome in the attackers' settlement after this, and probably faced with open hostility after this. Since the only other landmark we had was the town in the crater we saw earlier, it was decided that we return and investigate there.
Thus began a long and arduous march back out of the jungle. However, after a while we realised that Sira, who had been missing for a while. When we backtracked, we found that she had been silently beset by a giant spider, but by the time we arrived, she had managed to liberate herself and overcome the beast. Nevertheless, Master Krastus decided to cast a huge bolt of fire into the webbing that remained, and soon the foliage was ablaze. As we ran off towards the coast, the fire spread further, and when we arrived at the cliff, we could see that we had left behind a large smouldering area.
As we stood there by the cliff, the apparition that had summoned Carlton or, more accurately, Barton Grey, showed herself again. This time, however, she voiced her disappointment how Barton had forsaken her. Again, a heated argument broke out within the group. The pragmatic ones wanted to leave this island and go ahead, while I tried to make the point that we should, considering that much damage had been done by our carelessness, stay around for once and try to set things right, even if the outlook was rather bleak at this point.
