Our arrival in Brigandy Bay was, itself, uneventful, but we soon found ourselves in quite a spot of trouble. I'm beginning to think that my crew is unusually strange, even for Caribdus.
Upon a brawl starting up in a tavern, not an unusual event, I'm assured, Krastus proceeded to cast a spell and kill four, wound two? I'm not even sure how many were killed because we were thrown out rapidly. So, no chance for drinking, no chance for recruiting. Instead we went to another part of town. That tavern, however, didn't serve crabs. So Krastus and Helene went back to the ship while we settled in for a bit of drinking and, in my case, recruiting.
I should've known that Krastus would foil me again. Turns out there was some band of pirates who were at our ship, looking to get justice for Krastus killing the men of another ship. When I got there, Krastus was surrounded by a LARGE number of pirates with guns. I know he's a tough little carpenter, but the odds were definitely against him, and us, there.
I tried negotiating as best I could, and got them to accept not killing him... but it was going to cost us all our Iron that we got as well as Krastus's Pincer. Like, his actual pincer, not some weapon that he calls a Krastus's Pincer.
So I did what I had to do. I traded my newly acquired enchanted sword for Krastus's Pincer. The kicker? He didn't seem very grateful at all. Which just goes to show you he's got problems in the head. Serious ones. But the rest of the crew seemed pretty upset that we lost our iron, but I think giving up the sword made them put it into some perspective, and I, as the Captain, sacrificed much more than any of them would have to give up. But Krastus is on thin ice, as they say.
We departed Brigandy Bay, before Krastus could cost us anything more, and made decent time to Azy Cay. It's a nice island, a good place to relax. Oh... minor note: We robbed a Merchantman on our way there. Silk. Which we sold for a tiny bit of pieces of eight. Better than nothing.
Maybe our Luck will improve here in Azy Cay.
